How to get Authorised

The Financial Regulator is responsible for the authorisation and ongoing supervision of most financial service providers in Ireland. A Department within the Financial Regulator is responsible for processing all applications for authorisation with the exception of Credit Unions (responsibility of Registrar of Credit Unions)

The application process involves the submission of a formal application form consisting of prescibed documentation relating to the activities and the application to risk management and regulatory compliance. All applications for authorisation must be completed in full prior to submission and include any supporting documents requested as part of the application form e.g. business plan, Organisation Chart and Financial Statements etc...

Once authorised subsequent amendments can be made to a firms authorisation subject to Financial Regulator's approval.
